Helen WILKINS (Dr) Wake Up candidate for B Ward Dr Helen Wilkins has been involved in local community activities since moving to the northern beaches in 1991. She has been an active member of the Manly Vale Residents’ Action Group, the Manly Vale Public School P & C and School Council and the non-profit, community-run Montessori Farmhouse preschool. Helen has volunteered on a number of local environmental programs and for various sporting organisations, including softball, netball and taekwondo.
Helen is a qualified architect specialising in low-energy buildings. She has a Doctorate in long-term sustainable urban development and has published and presented internationally on the topic. Having studied and worked in Sydney, the UK (as an architect) and Egypt (as an archaeologist), Helen is currently working on developing our understanding of socially-sustainable built environments.
With over 25 years’ experience in the building industry, working with design firms and product manufacturers, Helen also has 15 years’ experience running her own business as an artist, illustrator and technical drawing teacher.
